** PLEASE NOTE:All swimmers are encouraged to compete at the SEOWV YMCA League Summer Championship meet on 7/10/10 at The Ohio State University. Please note the following rules for qualifying to swim this meet:
Before the entry deadline (7/2/2010) for Champs, a swimmer must have participated in two YMCA meets during the summer season. The two meets must include at least one YMCA dual meet and one other YMCA dual meet or YMCA closed invitational.
One of the two participation meets for Summer Championships must be at least 14 days prior to the Championship meet. This means swimmers must participate in at least one YMCA meet on or before June 26, 2010. Please note that we only have one YMCA meet on our schedule after June 26 (7/1 at Lancaster), and so all swimmers should get their two meet requirement completed in June!!
There are no minimum qualifying times for Summer Championships .... ALL swimmers are eligible to swim as long as they have met the participation requirements noted above.
Swimmers must have an established time in an individual event in order to swim it at Champs. In other words, a swimmer must have previously swum the event in competition and have a valid time for that event in order to swim it at Champs.
Attendance at a meet cancelled due to weather will be counted as participating in a meet. Participation in one individual event constitutes participation in a meet. Please note that a meet does NOT count toward participation if a swimmer signs-up to swim but then does not come to the meet and actually compete in at least one individual event.
*** Swimmers must use the on-line Event sign-up (Click on Meets & Events) to sign up for swim meets. Please be sure to sign-up prior to the entry deadline date noted for each meet in the above meet schedule. This will allow the coaches and Entry Chair adequate time to determine and enter your events by the official meet entry deadline. Coaches will discuss the events they are recommending for a meet with each swimmer.
