From the Granville High School Daily Announcements 2-4-2010:

The Granville swim teams split with Division 1 Pickerington North on Tuesday. The girls’ team lost 90-73, while the boys’ team won 100-70. First-place finishers for the Lady Aces were Allison Schroeder in the 200 IM and 100 Breast; Kelsey Haller in the 100 Free; Lori Davis in the 50 and the 500 Freestyle; and the 400 Freestyle Relay of Kelsey, Allison, Amberly Griesse, and Lori. First-place finishers for the mens’ team were Jack Barrett in the 200 IM; Seth Stahl in the 100 Fly and 100 Back; Danny Cathcart in the 100 Breast; and the 200 Medley Relay of Seth, Danny, Jamie Datz, and Trung Le. Tomorrow both teams will be competing at Ohio University to claim the SEOSL Championship.

Last Saturday the boys’ and girls’ swim teams competed in the MSL Conference Championships at Columbus Academy. The boys’ team upset a heavily-favored Columbus Academy team to become MSL Champions. First place for the boys were Junior Jamie Datz in the 50 free, and the 200 free relay consisting of Trung Le, Tommy Spichiger, Cody Washka, and Jamie Datz. The girls’ team lost a close contest with Columbus Academy to place second Team MSL.  First-place winners for the Lady Aces were Lori Davis in the 50 and 100 Freestyle, the 200 Medley relay consisting of Amberly Griesse, Allison Schroeder, Lori Davis, and Kelsey Haller, and the 400 Free Relay consisting of Danitza Bygrave, Kelsey Haller, Amberly Griesse, and Lori Davis.

Last week the men’s and women’s swim team took first place in a tri-meet against Pickerington Central and Liberty Union. First place for the girls were Kelsey Haller in the 100 Back; the 200 Free Relay team of Arika Taylor, Katie Black, Helene Shai, and Danitza Bygrave; and the 400 Free Relay team of Allison Schroeder, Amberly Griesse, Kelsey Haller, and Lori Davis. First-place finishers for the boys were Seth Stahl in the 200 IM, Danny Cathcart in the 50 Free; Jamie Datz in the 500; Trung Le in the 100 Breast; the 200 Medley of Clay White, Tom Barrett, Danny Cathcart, and Cody Washka; the 200 Free Relay of Brenton Miebach, Dominic Stepanovsky, Tom Barrett, and Kevin Esh; and the 400 Free Relay of Tommy Spichiger, Cody Washka, Seth Stahl, and Chris Stone.

The Granville Aces swim team split with Columbus Academy over the weekend. The Lady Aces were led by freshmen Allison Schroeder and Danitza Bygrave and sophomores Lori Davis and Kelsey Haller to a victory over their rival. The men’s team lost a close meet that came down to the final relay. Stepping up for the boys were 500 swimmers freshman Jack Barrett and juniors Derek Esh and Cody Washka. The Aces’ next meet is at Columbus Academy for MSL Championships.

The Lady Aces were led by school record-breaker Allison Schroeder in the 200 IM, Lori Davis in the 50 Free, and the 200 Free Relay of Allion Schroeder, Danitza Bygrave, Kelsey Haller, and Lori Davis. The boys were led by junior Jamie Datz and freshman Tom Barrett.
